Cookable
Terms of Use
Revision date: 2026-09-16
Effective date: 2026-09-16
Applies to: Cookable for Android, version 1.x
These terms are an agreement between you and Islomov Mekhrojbek, an individual, Republic of Uzbekistan ("we", "us") about your use of Cookable. By installing or using Cookable, you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use the app. The Cookable Privacy Policy, published alongside these terms, explains what data the app uses.
The short version
- Cookable is free to use. Premium is an optional subscription sold through Google Play, and it renews automatically until you cancel in Google Play.
- Premium may come with a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
- Refunds follow Google Play's refund rules and the consumer law that applies to you.
- Calorie and nutrition numbers are estimates, not medical or dietary advice.
- Allergen filtering helps, but always check labels on packaged foods.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
1. Who can use Cookable
Cookable is made for adults. If you're under the age of majority where you live, use Cookable only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you. Cookable doesn't set calorie targets for anyone under 18.
You may use Cookable for your own personal, non-commercial use.
2. The app and your data
Cookable suggests recipes from the food you have at home, estimates calories, keeps a food diary on your device, runs cook-mode timers and, with Premium, sets calorie and macro targets and builds daily meal plans. It works without an account.
Your product list, diary, body details, goals and plans stay on your device, as the Privacy Policy describes. They aren't backed up, so uninstalling Cookable, clearing its storage or losing your phone deletes them permanently, and we can't restore them.
Allergy filtering, cook-mode timers and every other safety feature are part of the free app. The Premium page in the app shows what Premium includes when you subscribe.
3. Premium subscriptions
3.1 Buying
Premium is sold through Google Play as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, and is billed to the payment method in your Google account. The price, the billing period and any offer terms are shown on the Premium page and on Google Play's purchase screen before you confirm. Prices can differ by country.
3.2 Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and Google Play charges the price in effect at that time, unless you cancel before the renewal date. If the price changes, Google Play tells you in advance and, where its rules require it, asks for your agreement before charging the new price.
3.3 Free trial
If the offer you choose includes a free trial (currently 7 days), you pay nothing during the trial. Google Play may ask for a payment method first. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts when the trial ends and Google Play charges the price shown on the offer. Google Play decides who is eligible for a trial; for example, you may not get another trial if you've already had one.
3.4 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app: tap your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cookable → Cancel subscription. You can also cancel at https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Uninstalling Cookable does not cancel your subscription. After you cancel, you won't be charged again, and Premium stays on until the end of the period you've already paid for.
3.5 Refunds
Payments are processed by Google Play, not by us, so refunds follow Google Play's refund policies (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637) and the consumer law that applies to you. You can ask Google Play for a refund, or contact us: we can refund an order through Google Play where that's appropriate or required by law. Unless the law says otherwise, cancelling doesn't refund the part of a billing period that has already started.
3.6 Restoring Premium
Premium is linked to the Google account that bought it. On a new phone, or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases in Settings. Restoring brings back Premium, not the data that was stored on your old phone (section 2).
3.7 When Premium can't be checked
Cookable checks Premium through Google Play and our subscription service, RevenueCat. If they can't be reached, Cookable uses the last status it knows, and Premium features may be unavailable until the check succeeds. The free features keep working.
4. Promotional access for judges, reviewers and testers
We may give some people free Premium for a limited time, for example hackathon judges, app reviewers, journalists or testers.
- Google Play promo codes. A promo code for the subscription works like a free trial: Google Play may ask for a payment method, and the subscription renews at the regular price when the free period ends unless you cancel before then (section 3.4).
- Access we switch on directly. If we turn Premium on for your installation ourselves, it ends automatically on the date we tell you and never charges you.
Promotional access is personal. It can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and we may end it if it's misused, for example by sharing or reselling codes.
5. Health and nutrition
- Wellness, not medicine. Cookable is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Nothing in Cookable is medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and it doesn't replace a doctor or a registered dietitian.
- Every number is an estimate. Calorie and macro values are calculated from typical ingredient data and standard cooking factors. Real food varies with brands, ingredients, portions and cooking, so Cookable shows each value with a range: about ±10% for food you weighed, ±15% for a recipe portion, ±25% for household measures and preset dishes, and ±40% for a dish eaten out.
- A target is a starting point. A suggested calorie target comes from a standard formula (Mifflin–St Jeor) and your activity level. Bodies differ, so treat it as a starting point, not a prescription. Cookable keeps daily targets at or above 1,200 kcal (female) or 1,500 kcal (male), sets no targets for anyone under 18, and suggests maintenance only during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Talk to a professional first if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medicine affected by what you eat.
- If eating has felt hard lately, you don't have to handle it alone — a doctor or an eating-disorder helpline can help.
All values are estimates (±10–20%). Not medical advice; consult a physician if you have a medical condition.
6. Recipes, food and timers
- Recipes, swaps, cooking times, doneness notes and freshness labels such as "Use soon" or "Probably gone" are general guidance. Cookable can't see, smell or test your food: freshness labels come from typical shelf lives and the day you added an item, not from the food itself. Follow the storage and cooking instructions on packaging, use your own judgement, and when in doubt, throw it out.
- Scaled quantities and ingredient swaps change how a dish turns out. Read each swap's notes, including any heat warning.
- Timers run on your phone, and some phones delay or stop apps in the background. Keep notifications and alarms allowed for Cookable (Settings → Cook timers), and don't leave cooking unattended because a timer is running.
7. Allergen filtering: what it can and can't do
Filtering is based on typical product composition. Always check labels on packaged foods.
- Cookable checks a recipe's full ingredient list against the allergen groups you choose, including basics it assumes you have at home, such as flour and oil. Your choices apply to the whole household at once.
- It can't know the brand or product you actually use, a manufacturer's recipe changes, cross-contact in factories or kitchens, or how a restaurant makes a dish. Allergen information about dishes eaten out describes the usual dish type, never a particular kitchen.
- Filtering can't promise that a dish is free of an allergen. If you, or someone you cook for, has a severe allergy, don't rely on Cookable as your only safeguard.
- Allergy filtering and every safety feature stay free. We don't move them behind the paywall.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, extract or republish Cookable's recipes, ingredient data or other content, except for your own cooking;
- work around Premium checks, or modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- interfere with the app or the services it uses, or access them by automated means;
- sell, publicly share or otherwise misuse promo codes;
- use Cookable in a way that breaks the law or Google Play's terms.
9. Ownership and licence
Cookable, including its code, design, recipe texts, ingredient data and brand, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you control, under these terms and Google Play's terms. The fonts in Cookable are licensed under the SIL Open Font License (Settings → About → Font licenses).
10. Outside services
Purchases are also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. Cookable relies on Google Play, RevenueCat, Firebase and OneSignal, as the Privacy Policy describes. We aren't responsible for the availability or the terms of those services.
11. Changes to Cookable
We may change, add or remove features to improve Cookable or keep it working. If a change removes a main Premium feature you've paid for, we'll tell you in the app, and you can cancel (section 3.4) and ask for a refund (section 3.5).
12. No warranty
Cookable is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its estimates, recipes or filters will be accurate or complete for your situation. Some countries don't allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for the loss of data stored only on your device;
- our total liability for all claims about Cookable is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim and USD 20.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
14. Stopping
You can stop using Cookable at any time: cancel any subscription in Google Play and uninstall the app. We may end promotional access that is misused, and we may stop offering Cookable. If we stop offering it while you have a paid subscription, we'll tell you in advance where we can, and refunds follow section 3.5.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Cookable after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and disputes go to the courts of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the developer's location. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please email us: most problems can be solved quickly.
